Director, Startups and Partnerships

Are you excited by the prospect of helping early stage startups succeed by partnering with organizations like Incubators, Accelerators, VCs and others? Are you passionate about building and landing programs with global impact? Our mission is to invest the time and deeply understand our startup and developer users to assist them with their growth as part of our Startup Program, currently with hundreds of Startup participants in 40+ countries.

The Role and the Team

In this role, you'll use your skills and experience to expand on our successful startups and partnerships program targeted to developers:

  • Create the strategy to grow the Startup Program in terms of global reach, partnerships, usage of the Auth0 platform and customer satisfaction.
  • Operate as the main point of contact for the Startup Program, leading high level strategy discussions but also tactical implementations.
  • Nurture the relationship between early stage Startups and Auth0, planning for training, community events, and “hand hold” them until graduation.
  • Collaborate and orchestrate efforts with close teams like Self Service and Social Impact and also other motions like Developer Relations, Marketing, Sales and Customer Success.
  • Explore, assess and build partnerships with 3rd party organizations like Cloud Providers, Developer Tools, etc.
  • Run Pilots and evaluate ROI in terms of business opportunity and operational costs.

You're a great fit for this role if you…

  • Usually think out of the box, like Experimentation and building/designing initiatives
  • Like rolling up your sleeves and working with data, analyzing trends, etc.
  • Have demonstrated experience working in the startup and technology sector. This would include working with Incubators, VCs, Accelerators or Startups.
  • Have developed partnerships with business impact to expand the reach of a product/service
  • Have experience scaling a program into international markets (particularly EMEA and LATAM).
  • Have built and nurtured relationships with startups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills)

Your Experience

You can ramp up quickly and understand thoroughly the economics, dynamics and intricacy of the SaaS and internet sectors.

Ability to quickly learn technical concepts and gain credibility with Marketing, Developer Relations, Sales stakeholders and leadership teams

    • Five years’ experience working in the startup and technology sector; SaaS experience is a plus.
    • Collaborate across functional teams and manage through influence with senior executive stakeholders across Auth0 and target customers/partners
    • Proven ability to manage relationships and drive proactive business development/sales outcomes with customers and partners
    • Effective at managing and thriving in ambiguous situations
    • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with peers, leadership, customers, and partners. This includes expressing empathy and compassion when dealing with the needs and problems of others, being approachable, taking time to address the concerns of coworkers, and treating others with respect and dignity
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or CS preferred. MBA/JD or Graduate Degree in a quantitative field preferred
